20th Rockers Reunion Reading 2003 18th January 2003 Is it really a year?? My mother always said “Once you reach 21 the years will fly” She was right... (So I am not 21... 30 next birthday J honest). Phoned Sandra told her I was leaving, would be at the Halls in about an hour. 25 mins later pull up outside, A12 empty on a Saturday morning? Wonders never cease. Sandra filled the roll, I filled the flasks and Gary loaded the car. We set off for Reading… We arrived at the sports centre just after 3pm... Pete pulled up just after; we started to set the stall up. We were on the stage again. Richard, Yvonne and Harriet walked in. All hands on deck stall in order in no time. Wendy turned up then, said that she wouldn’t be able to go round with the bucket as she had hurt her leg. Andrea was absent this year (Oh no, NO RAFFLE QUEEN... we are doomed). Sandra said that little Sandra was coming, and that she would take a bucket and a book of tickets. Before the doors opened, Sandra, Harriet and I went for a wonder round the stalls. (Harriet bought herself a glow in the dark T-shirt.) Doors opened at 5pm. Sandra and Neil arrived, had a cup of tea, quick chat. Then it was time to dive into the crowd with the buckets. Yvonne, Harriet and Sandra came back a few times to empty their buckets. There were a few boys and girls from Spain, some members and some wanting to join. One of them bought a Jacket (Poor Doris she will freeze now). At 9; 30pm Gary and Richard went on stage to draw the raffle, Still loads of people around, all in all it was a good night for the club. From the Raffle we made £555.75. Thank you one and all. This will enable us to buy the much needed filing cabinet for our 28,000 members.
